I changed mine. I hope that it will help other people out there.

Count me in. This is an excellent idea.

I got so angry when I saw a user posting that as generic advice to solve problems...

Well, even though I'm not really much of an Ubuntu user... I do hang out on this forum a lot.

Re: Join the fight against malicious commands given to new users

    Hi!
I was just thinking: Isn't there any way to filter all messages containing these commands, so a moderator can read them before they are posted?

Re: Join the fight against malicious commands given to new users

It would be impractical, I believe, since there ARE (in rare cases) legit uses for the command in question, such as removing unneeded compiled programs and such.

Not frequently, but we just had an attack two hours ago. That new (or old) poster has been banned and the posts have been jailed.

Good Question. I know there is a mod that restricts posting of links to established user of a set # of post.

For now we can do our own little part.

Can't the offenders be reported to their ISP as it seems that banning is only temporary until they get a new IP assigned.
Before Executing commands, understand WHAT you are doing and WHY YOU WOULD WANT TO DO THAT. Some Commands can be VERY dangerous if you are uninformed!
