1. FLAC - by far the best choice. (space shouldn't be a problem nowadays?)
2. Ogg - another copy of the music for portable players (and if the portable doesn't support this, its not worth of buying ^^).

Does monkey's audio (ape) lossless codec produce smaller files than flac?
I didnt know that -- any other lossless codecs that can go Ubuntu style?
