For MythBuntu - I haven't tried this program in Ubuntu proper, so they may or may not have the same problem.
I've installed pyNeighborhood from the repository in order to graphically browse and mount Windows/other linux SMB shares. It installs under the Applications, Network menu properly, but by default will not work. It tries to mount shares to /mnt/lan, automatically creating directories to mount too. But by default the logged in user cannot create folders in /mnt/? Perhaps the install program can create the /mnt/lan folder first with the proper permissions for the default user, or the defaults can be modified to mount elsewhere.
