I've found the Debian packages linked to from that site work fine on my Gutsy system. You can always compile from source though as it's GPLed.

As far as DGENS, since the source is still out there, other people have been branching it of by creating their own stuff, aka dgens for psp, dgens-sdl (freshmeat)

How about adding Stella for Atari 2600
stella 2.2-1 (repos)
