i've found that a rom was causing that kind of program shutdown. rom was bad. with other rom (iso) working, epsxe works just fine.

By the way: In case someone already upgraded to Hardy, he/she will have noticed that ePSXe has stopped working if spuEternal is installed. The reason is that Hardy doesn't include libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2 anymore, partially because GCC 2.95 has been failing to build from source since Feisty. Anyway, at the moment the only choice you have is installing the Gutsy deb found here. A bug report has already been filed.
There hasn't been much talk in this thread about Analog stick support. Onmijoy doesn't seem to support it at all, and while padjoy has a box to enable analog support, my analog sticks aren't working at all in any game I try. One of which is Final Fantasy 8, which most certainly supports it. Running 'jstest', my analog sticks work quite well, and ePSXe under windows with a different pad plugin works fantastically.
Has anyone else gotten this to work?
(Another funny glitch: ePSXe somehow turns my keyboard repeating off. For example, I can't hold down backspace and have it delete any more than one character without releasing it and pressing it again. Does anyone know of something I can add to the epsxe launcher script to restore that functionality once the emulator is turned off?)
No idea about the keyboard, but for the joystick, try setting padjoy to think it's using PCSX instead of ePSXe. I have heard that it "helps" but don't quote me on it later

You aren't running Compiz via XGL by any chance, are you?
You don't have a BIOS file. You need that to run the emulator. Unfortunately, I can not tell you where to get one.

And you still didn't give me an answer regarding XGL. Are you running Compiz or Beryl via XGL? If yes, this is the problem. If not, tell us, please, which graphics card you you have and which drivers are you using.
Hi sorry I didn't see your post Yes I am running Compiz and XGL my video card is the Raedon X700 Mobile do I have to stop compiz to run the epsxe??
