In my ignorance i'm not sure what this means, but I would like to figure it out.

As quicksilverprince mentioned, the getlibs have been removed; I used the provided code.

Any help would be great or a shove in the right direction. I'm new at this. Sorry if it's something terribly obvious.

    thx
I'm also having trouble with this.
If anyone has the solution, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok. I went through the whole process again from the beginning. Everything works great. The only problem I encounter is that the directional keys do not work for me.
I have this problem too, if i assign different keyboard keys for directions it works, but not with arrows any ideas fixes?

I tried this on Lucid and it completely failed as well as ruined my clean install.

If you are really having problems, just install ePSXe v1.7 in Wine.

Its a newer version and works great in Wine. The only thing I had to do was copy the ZLIB1.DLL to the same folder I had epsxe in.

The installer worked but I cant seem to find where it put the executable. I want to use epsxe in wahcade as it preforms much better the pcsx. the which epsxe command does not work.

Re: Install ePSXe Playstation Emulator (Version 2)

Using Linux Mint 10, which uses Ubuntu Maverick repositories.

Ive installed the "updated" getlibs .deb file, but it looks like libgtk1-2 was removed from repositories. Here is the output of getlibs:

    Code:
    a@b /usr/local/games/epsxe $ sudo getlibs $EPSXE/epsxe
    libgtk-1.2.so.0: libgtk1.2
    No match for libgdk-1.2.so.0
    libgmodule-1.2.so.0: libglib1.2
    No match for libglib-1.2.so.0
The following i386 packages will be installed:
    libglib1.2
    libgtk1.2
    Continue [Y/n]? y
    E: No packages found
libglib1.2 was not found in your repositories
Make sure you have all repositories enabled and updated
    E: No packages found
libgtk1.2 was not found in your repositories
Make sure you have all repositories enabled and updated
    No packages to install
And, as expected, epsxe gives the following error:
    Code:
epsxe: error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Ive checked libgtk1-2 using Synaptics, and its not there. Not even listed or avaliable for downliad/install. Only libgtk2. Are they compatible? Would a symlink work?

Any ideias on how or where to get libgtk1-2 on Maverick?

Re: Install ePSXe Playstation Emulator (Version 2)

Nevermind... thats too much trouble for a 2003 software... hard to believe that an 8 years old version is still the best / recommended PSX emulator for Linux.

Anyway, searching a lil harder, ive found this: PCSX-Reloaded

    http://pcsxr.codeplex.com/

Theres a .DEB file that installed as easily as a double-click. Installer creates a nice icon at menu (Games sectioon). and has a cute GUI. Didint tamper with settings yet, but it run out-of-the-box flawleslly a 5-minute test i did with a Final Fantasy VII .BIN image i created myself (have the original game)
