Well, you have to stop XGL entirely in order to make this work. The only problem: I really don't know how to do that in newer versions of XGL. And I don't know which version of Ubuntu you are using. You might wanna do some research yourself

i'll have a look i'm on 710 Gusty thanks for the help
I'm having the same problem and I'm running compiz too. I try loading an iso and epsxe just disappears.
You should look for two things: Are you running XGL? If yes, this might be your problem. If not, start ePSXe from console and post the error message here.
Can anyone help me out with thes bios problem??
Code:civilized@civilized-laptop:~$ epsxe * Running ePSXe emulator version 1.6.0. * Memory handlers init. * ePSXe: PSX BIOS loaded [/home/civilized/Documents/bios/Scph1001.bin]. * Loading ISO Format * Closing ISO system. * Error loading cdrombin [/usr/local/games/epsxe/bios/scph1001.bin]
What did you try to do? Loading a BIOS file as CDROM image is apparently a bad idea. If you want to run the BIOS directly, select the "Run BIOS" command.
I don't know what I did I was just trying to config the bios under the config option so I can load an ISO but I keep getting an error saying config bios...
Well, according to the terminal output the BIOS has been found and got loaded correctly. The last line, however, indicates that you tried to load another BIOS image as CDROM image which is pretty moch nonsense, because CDROM ,bin images have absolutely nothing to do with BIOS .bin images.
How do I fix that??
Try loading a real game. It looks like you are trying to run the BIOS as a CD image.
