    Installing Mandriva

I decided to try KDE and a RPM based distro, A.K.A Mandriva

    A few questions:

Can ubuntu and mandriva use the same SWAP?
Should I install grub on mandriva or no?

    More questions coming later.

They can use the same swap, and even the that /home if you feel like sharing.

Mandrivas Grub should see Ubuntu and add it for you. Most distos seem to play nicley.

That's why I use the word should. At least it's an easy fix. What do you think of the Mandriva KDE? It looks pretty nice on the website.

It is very nice, but there are a few obnoxious (although incredibly simply to fix) bugs. For one, the screensaver doesn't work with compiz. It either freezes or only takes up a portion of the screen. Also, aspell defaults to a random language, not the one you selected on install. Changing the screensaver to blank and changing the language (really easy) was all that was needed, a total of like 15 minutes all said and done (there were a couple others, I can't remember). Overall I liked it a lot though.
