Skype 2.0 BETA for linux is here! Finally Video Conference!
Skype finally offers video conference for linux users.
Strongly recommended to give it a try. Get a nice .deb from here: http://www.skype.com/intl/en/download/skype/linux/beta/ It works for you? Good luck! EDIT: "kripkenstein" made a wiki where you can find useful information about webcams compatibility in Skype Linux. Check it and don't forget to contribute to enlarge it! https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SkypeWebCams

Re: Skype 2.0 BETA for linux is here! FINALLY VIDEO CONFERENCE!
At the moment I'm using an old Logitech Quick Cam Express and is loaded with Skype. But I'm having problems with the video signal, don't know if some issue of my camera or this first bugged version of the 2.x series. Anyway honestly I don't really care. I'm really happy now to see that skype is working to bring me videoconference with every mac/windows/linux skype machine.
I'll tell you later how can I manage a video call, now at 01:55 here in europe everybody is sleeping!

Awesome. My built-in webcam worked flawlessly. I was concerned after I couldn't get it to work with YouTube.

The video works flawlessly with the built-in web cam on my HP dv6000t laptop.

Re: Skype 2.0 BETA for linux is here! FINALLY VIDEO CONFERENCE!
Does anybody have any idea how I can get my Logitech Clicksmart 310 to work in Skype?
In Camorama I can capture pictures with my webcam, although in skype option it detects my logitech Clicksmart 310 (/dev/video0), it actually remains a black screen when I press the "Test" button. Does anybody know how to fix it? Thanks. |
