    can any one suggest a good software for a mathlearner

    currently i am self-studying additional mathematics (algebra, binomial thm, math induction, trigo, conic, locus, vector, basic differential and integration, complex no. ). i want to know if there is a computer software which can solve a question, for example :
    show that


    preferrably it can show me step by step. thanks!

    There's a couple, but you probably want something interactive?

    1) WxMaxima
    2) Python and SciPy (see www.scipy.org), takes awhile to get the hang of it, but then you can use SymPy (Google for it) for symbolic work in the same environment.

    Try (1), but later you'll want to learn how to use (2) -- similar in some ways to Matlab.
