Who has comm with the construction "egrep '.*total$'" ?!

There a no "total" lines - neither in time nor in pi command.

    It is enough to run:

    hugo@duron650:~$ time pi 1048576 >/dev/null

    real 0m11.626s
    user 0m10.265s
    sys 0m0.336s
    hugo@duron650:~$
on my Sempron 2700+ (Socket A at 1.9Ghz)

BTW - There must be a great difference between SuperPI an PI.

e.g. Intel i3-530 takes 15s for SuperPI 1M - an I really don't thing, my CPU is faster

Not many Linux users are using such hardware yet. I mean, that is top of the line and not everyone can afford it nowadays.

Re: Super PI Ubuntu - How fast is your cpu?

You should forget super pi and go with Systester. super pi is not even multi threaded, so its results are meaningless.

Systester on the other hand can properly use all your cpu cores.

See my signature. Can't use Super PI 1.8 for windows, as it gives "Access is denied" no matter what perms I give it, or if I run it as admin, or via CMD as admin. So I have to use the older 1.5 version.
