Vmware workstastion on 7.10 header files problem

I am trying to install Vmware Workstation for 64-bit Linux distros on a Ubuntu 7.10 x64.
I believe that I've already read every single guide/how-to about in net and followed every single suggestion or instruction but still can't manage to get VM work.
That's why I decided to post my problem here.

Q1: Considering that both my OS and VMware version are 64-bit,
the location for the C header files should be
    /lib64/modules/2.6.22-14-generic/build/include
    or
    /lib/modules/2.6.22-14-generic/build/include
    ?

Q2: Which is the correct gcc version should be used?
The 3.4 as suggested to almost all how-to's
    e.g https://help.ubuntu.com/community/VMware/Workstation
or the 4.1 (pre)installed on my system?

    Q3: I've re-configured the Vmware installation over 10 times
trying each time a different case (gcc version c-header files path etc). Why is that I again and again prompt for building the VM modules for my system although every time I run the config-file I get a "The module loads perfectly in the running kernel." message?
I mean if the configuration of every module is successful, as the installation script says, shouldn't it be recognized every next time I rerun it?

I post below the output of config-pl if you can find anything suspicious.
    Thanks for your time
