Has anyone used the AVerMedia AverTV combo pci?

I like how this card has the pci-e x1 interface to free up some of my pci slots. Has anyone used one of these successfully? Have you gotten the dual function to work? Can you switch seamlessly from hd to analog? Thanks for your help in advance.

I would personally be pretty doubtful of this card working. I haven't seen much talk on the mailing list or anything about pci-e cards.

I have the card, it is the combo PCIE or M780. There is pretty much 0 chance this card will ever work with Linux

Search google lots more where that came from.

Any update on this? I already have this card on the PC I'm thinking of putting Ubuntu on. If I can't use it I'll have to stick with XP MCE...

Yah - I'm in the same situation here - Have an PC that was originally built for mediaportal - but we are big fans of Mythbuntu! and it doesn't look like this card is going to be supported anytime soon - there is a little work done on PCIe drivers now for some chips - If anyone else knows more let me know!

If I don't find anything soon this one will be on ebay and I'll be replacing with something that works the best with Mythbuntu

Thanks!

I take it no progress in this topic has arisen, I don't want to be dual booting between Vista and Linux.

Please anyone develop a Linux PCIe x1 driver for the AverTV (M780) card.
