    Running Oblivion in WINE

    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=349764

i have tried the above walkthrough, but went wrong somewhere and need some help

so far i've gotten it to emulate a virtual deskop and actually start the game. It gets to the main page, which has no colour... and then crashes.

EDIT: i've actually gotten it now to go to a full game with "sudo winefile" and then browsing to oblivion.exe ... but there is no 3D rendering (just the HUD display) and the sound is choppy and bad on the intro

any idea what im doing wrong?

if you need any specific specs plez ask... the windows partition on this comp played oblivion fine, but i accidentally nuked it and i dont want to go thru the hassle of a reinstall
The box said that I needed to have Windows 98 or better... so I installed Linux

hmm.. done that... i'm going to try a fresh install of wine and oblivion to see how that goes.
