Without this turning into an OS bashing thread i was wondering why:

When I play WoW on my machine in XP and then I try and put the game into windowed mode, the game becomes extremly choppy to the point of unplayable. (I get no lag on fullscreen mode)

Now when I play on linux, I am running WoW, Beryl, Emerald, Kiba-Dock
I play in a nice little window with no lag at all.

Is it because WoW itself doesnt "think" that Im in a window beause on the game Im in fullscreen mode ?

Ive been told that when I hit windowed mode on WoW in XP that it somehow brings in an IE environment ? is this true ?

Just a couple of things I was mulling over and figured this was the place to get a concrete answers.
