Does anyone know where to go to request info on if a phone is supported or not? I just got the popular E815 and I can't seem to get moto4lin to connect to it. p2ktest comes back with "No phone found", however it is showing up under lsusb :
The moto4lin mailing list seems dead, and I don't see any forum for the project. Anyone got their E815 working, or have a suggestion of where I should go to get help on that project?Code:Bus 005 Device 003: ID 22b8:2a61 Motorola PCS
Sorry if this is a little OT....GREAT HOWTO....thx!
Good tutorial, worked great for me.
1) I would suggest using "checkinstall" instead of "make install" so you have a deb that is easy to remove. I hate compiling from source since it breaks apt; this is the way around that.
2) If you transfer an mp3 ringtone to your phone but you can't get it to play it:
- Navigate to your Audio SubFolder (/a/mobile/audio).
- BACKUP MyToneDB.db and TempToneDB.db to your computer!
- Delete MyToneDB.db and TempToneDB.db.
- Upload new ringtone.
- Power cycle phone
This will rebuild your Audio database and is needed when using moto4lin to upload things.

appreciate it...thanks.
Much easier to use KMobileTools. I'm working on debs but they won't make it into Breezy methinks.Originally Posted by gorkhal

I have a Motorola v1050, and it seems that the phone is recognized, because I can get the Vendor ID 22b8 and the product ID 3002, but when I switch to P2k i get this error:
[error] Unable to open device
[error] Check preferences
[error] Unable to connect
Could anyone help me? Any hint?
Thanks in advance!
