    No luck. Okay, I give up. Thanks anyway. I'll give up on moto4lin, but maybe the other one might work. Push comes to shove, I could always *sigh* use the Windows software. ugh.

    It would be nice to get it to work.

    One more step to getting rid of Windows.

    Motorola Q, this is the best I got...

    [info] Found drives: [ ?èM· ]
    [info] Search request: [?èM·/|*]
    [debug] Unable to execute search request
    Complete
    Getting file list

    Seems to kind of find it...Considering it's windows mobile im not surprised really

    Ok... Im wondering is there a way to completely purge the AT mode? First start the program it detects the phone and starts in P2K mode, then it switches over to AT mode and wont let me switch back to P2K.

    Edit: This is on Feisty btw.

    Re: HOWTO: Access Motorola phones through USB on Hoary using Moto4Lin

    I've gotten moto4lin to work fully on my l6 with Feisty using the SVN howto posted
    svn co https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/...trunk/moto4lin moto4lin
    cd moto4lin/
    qmake
    make
    sudo make install
    sudo chmod u+s /usr/bin/moto4lin

    but also edit my moto4linrc to read as

    [device]
    cfgACMdevice=/dev/ttyACM0
    cfgATproduct=4902
    cfgATvendor=22b8
    cfgAutoConnect=1
    cfgDetachDriver=0
    cfgP2Kproduct=4901
    cfgP2Kvendor=22b8

    Hi,

    I just wanted to say thank you very much to the guy who started this thread.
    I got a v3black a couple weeks ago, tried moto4lin by myself but couldn't get it to work; but now, by following this howto it worked just fine.
    I'm on Feisty.

    For those of you that went over all sorts of manuals and it still didn't work like for me this solution should help...
    I had to change some settings for moto4lin to work!
    I have Motorola SLVR L7 and running on Fiesty (7.04).

    In the phone go to Menu>Settings>Connection>USB Settings>Set=>Default Connection: Data/Fax Connection

    Also I have went over steps that anjilslaire does, even dough regular package might work just as well...

    I hope that it helps you!

    Re: HOWTO: Access Motorola phones through USB on Hoary using Moto4Lin

    Your right about the regular version in the repo's. It also works.

    The trick for my L6 was the bolded settings in my earlier post. The values were swapped by default.
    cfgATproduct=4902
    cfgP2Kproduct=4901

    I'll have to check my phone settings too

    EDIT:
    My SLVR L6 has only has
    Menu>Settings>Connection>Blutooth Link
    or
    Menu>Settings>Connection>Sync

    Ah we,, it works fine for me as noted.

    I just got a brand new phone. Apparently, this phone is a very brand new model too. Its the Motorola RIZR Z3. I have successfully downloaded moto4lin from synaptic (i'm on feisty 7.04). I'm getting nothing....is there any way to get around the fact that I have a brand new phone that hardly anyone out in the market has yet?

    Most motos have similar settings. Check my settings a couple posts up to see if changing things up a bit work
