+1
I also love the enlightened gnome idea, and I actually posted in one of the two EG threads that I am using E16.7 from Sid along with GNOME. I did my homework; the debian packages are identical to the Ubuntu ones dependency wise, and install everything to the same locations. I used the ones from sid after seeing this, and have had no problems.
If these packages were just added straight to backports or extras or something from debian, it would work just fine.
I can't get EGnome to work right. Can't find a good Aqua Theme that doesn't mess with the GNOME Panel
But still, it would rock

i 2nd this request
its a must have
Oh man, playing around with E 16.7 (which I installed from Sid, dont' try this at home unless you know what you're doing/can afford some breakage, though i haven't found any problems) and I found out: Show Desktop works! But it didn't in E16.6! Another reason to have this added to Ubuntu...
I Just Joined These forums so I could request this also.
I will be happy forever if 16.7 gets backported
