SCRIPT: Install additional applications

Hi!
I'm wrinting a script to make the installation of some applications easier. You will be able to go through a list of approx 30 applications and tell the script if you want it or not.

There is two parts. Basic applications and Development applications.

Please help me to improve this script!

First I have one question. Can someone suggest a good way to check that the user has all the correct repositoies in the /etc/apt/sources.list? And if they don't: Add the 'correct' ones.

I moved your thread because I think this is a better place to discuss scripting. You can create a user friendly howto in "Hoary 5.04 Customization Tips & Tricks" when your script is more or less finished. I haven't looked at your script so let me know if you disagree.

Maybe you can find some stuff in ubuntu-geek's script that you can use to improve yours :
