If you're trying to locate a program, application or utility you've installed, the whereis command is useful. Maybe you installed a program through Synaptic called xmms but can't find in anywhere.Sometimes some programs don't create an entry under the menu. In this case you may have to just manually make your own entry there.Code:whereis xmms

that didnt help at all i want to enable debian please help please all i want is kooldock and other stuff
Then add a check to Debian in the Main Menu list.Code:/usr/bin/alacarte
NOTE: It won't work if Debian menu is actually empty...
