Yes. On the first page is a screenshot of blocked BBC ranges while HTTP was not excluded. Try http://www.bbc.co.uk if you use level1.
Also I have a custom list of ips I wish to add how do I go about that pg2 just took the text file but do I have to convert the file into a different file format other than txt for it to use it ?
If the textfile is a p2p or dat file, it should work directly.
A p2p format looks like this:
    name : 127.0.0.1 - 127.0.0.2

A dat file has this format:
    127.0.0.1 - 127.0.0.2, <0-255>, name

http://iplist.sf.net/lists/ are redirections to bluetack lists. In your case level1.gz needs to be downloaded via update.

    Re: HOWTO: Graphical IP Blocker

    Hi everyone

I've just installed ipblock on my desktop and laptop, and i've configured it to start on boot and run in the background thanks to this wonderful thread!

I'm rather new to this ip blocking business, and the problem i've come across is that i can't access any page on the BBC site.

Is there a way that i can allow the BBC site?

    Cheers

I re-read the thread and realised the answer was in there!

Red face Re: HOWTO: Graphical IP Blocker

I think IPblock is a nice tool...but... don't start in my pc
    When i try
    Code:
    sudo ipblock start
and also in GUI it start to work but it never turns to enabled...
In command line it leaves me with
    Code:
     Starting ipblock...
At first time it asks me to upload and it was all ok until i try to enable...

    Any idea?

    Re: HOWTO: Graphical IP Blocker

    Dear members and guests,

Regretfully we need to let you all know that in one weeks time the site may be closing indefinitely. Our web hosting bill is currently 3 months behind and without this server in operation there will also be no more blocklist updates possible.

We ask you to make a choice and decide on our future. If you want to help keep us alive then we need your support and donations.

There are literally millions of people downloading our files, however only a very small proportion of people find the time to invest anything in return to ensure that our free services can continue.

Everything we do here is offered free of charge, we make absolutely no money whatsoever. We do however spend quite a lot of time to keep everything running as best as we can for your benefit.

In the event that we cannot afford to continue offering our services for free, then we may need to consider introducing a small subscription/fee based service for downloading the blocklist updates and possibly looking towards using ads throughout the site.

We also need more server mirrors to cope with the excessive bandwidth/traffic associated with hosting the lists.

So now you can either choose to do nothing and let BISS die or help support us so that we can continue to support you. If you find any value in our free programs and services here then please consider donating.

    The choice is now yours.

Our donation page is here :
