man how do you unstall this ? it dont even update i dont even its working anymore. just wanna unstall thanks =)
You would uninstall with:
sudo apt-get purge iplist
Under 10.04, I got it to load the lists by manually deleting the *.gz files and adding the *.gz.php files in /var/cache/iplist
Not working!!!
I installed it, but i keep getting this message when i enable:
iplist[3373]: error: can't find level1.gz
ipblock[3358]: error: failed to start, cleaning up
What do i do?
PS: I really don't know how to use it, so can someone explain the basic functions?
Thanks
My temporary fix for the php file name issue was to create soft links in the same /var/cache/iplists directory pointing to the .php files.
So, for example, my level1.gz downloads as level1.gz.php, so i created a soft link named level1.gz that is pointing to level1.gz.php, like so:
sudo ln -s level1.gz.php level1.gz
I did this for all lists effected....seems to work.
EDIT: doing this ensures you don't have to ever physically rename the php files

You should probably read the whole thread, as that question has been answered. The problem is that IPBlock is downloading the filter files and attaching .php to the end of them. They are located in /var/cache/iplist/
So download/update the filter lists with IPBlock, then in a terminal type:
cd /var/cache/iplist
sudo rename 's/\.php//' *.php
That's it. Note, you'll have to do that every time you update your filters.
Hey thanks! it worked!!
