counter stike freezes with intel x3000

yea i am having a problem with counter strike source freezing up and i heard that the intel gma x3000 opensource drivers are a bit buggy so i was wondering if

there are some good drivers for the intel gma x3000 integrated graphics

has any one bean able to play counter strike or any other game with the intel
gma x3000

other people are having almost the exact same problems see here

would any of these drivers here work better than my current driver

my chipset = intel g965

If you want to work-around the problem, launch the game with -soft, and you will use software rendering. The game will run slow and look like crap though but at least it starts.

so can you give me an example like at the end of the run command just type -soft

it didnt work but maybe i did something wrong

cd /home/jacob/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Steam

wine steam.exe -soft

then steam launched so i launched counter strike and the same thing happened as before it freezes up and have to do a hard reboot

Counterstrike works now with Intel G965 and Gutsy Gibbon
