Yep, I follow this step, as you can read in my previous message.

I think : /bin/sh: bad interpreter is the important part of the error message, but I don't know what to do.

I successfully installed everything, but when I go to run ET all it does is fade to black before signing me out. I have similar problems when I try running quake.

Any ideas?

Video card problem? not supporting 3d on linux? If you can try Counter-Strike, you can make it use software for faster performance on non-d3d/opengl environment.

I woke up this morning thinking about it...

I have the exact same problem. What's odd is that ET was once working fine for me. I then tried updating to Hoary and after having some problems there did a clean install of Warty. But now, for some reason, running ET switches the video mode then kills the X server. I can't see the output of the program, so I don't know what error is being given. I'd appreciate any help with this!

Edit: nvidia is set up and glxgears reports 4134 FPS, so OpenGL must be working.

lol, we dont get that many people on a single server on Counter-Strike . Its a slow paced game and tries hard to be completely different than a no brainer shooter .

ET is good though/.
