    Tiger is what got me interested in OSX as before that I was unsure, leopard looks promising though

    i have to be honest, i'd definitely go with ubuntu. after i tried kubuntu, i've found paying for software is such a big mistake

    as for darwin, i never heard of it will now when i just wikipedia'd it..

    Leopard, features such as TimeMachine which will help you recover lost files are a big part of an OS, and Tiger doesn't have that, I am hoping maybe Ubuntu will have a feature similar to OS X's Time Machine sometime..

    It does I asked the same question in a different thread. Do a search for TimeVault.

    You can install it with sudo apt-get install timevault

    I've installed it and it works perfectly without any work at all. GUI works fine. It doesn't have the OTT universe browsing thing that TimeMachine has, but I bet some Beryl stuff will be added to it at some point to make it look funky.
