Why are they all on the west coast? They should bring something around the north-east area. Im from springfield, and i dont expect them to come to springfield, but possibly boston or something...anything.

There was an Ubucon conference in NYC this February.
If we want a local Ubuntu conference (as opposed to a more general FOSS/Linux conference, of which I don't know any around here either) it's up to us to organize one.

I think we could set up a conference at some point. Maybe we should make that one of our goals. We should try and add some members to out list first and also try to get some smaller events together. I think maybe a 2 year goal would be reasonable. Something to start thinking about.
Definately would be nice to do. From what i can tell of things mass and new england are falling far behind in this area. Would be nice to jump start things a bit considering all the resources and potential of the area.
Um, people, the next Ubuntu Education Summit is in BOSTON IN OCTOBER!

We should get in contact with Richard Weideman and see how we can help.
Also, are we able to get materials (e.g., ubuntu cds) now? Can we get some for the event? (I could also use some, I'm all out)
October huh?
Hope I can make it
