Help with changing the syntax highlighting in Geany

I opened up the configuration file for C++ for Geany, where it has all the hex codes for syntax highlighting. I tried changing the color of the comments to green, but it changed it to white. Why is it doing this?

    Thanks.

I tried to do as you described, but couldn't find the configuration file- where is it kept?

Nevermind, I got it. I had to copy the file /usr/share/geany/filetypes.cpp to /home/username/.geany/filetypes, and change that file.
