    Firefox 2 tabs

I had to update from Dapper to Feisty, and so I've had to switch from firefox 1.5 to firefox 2.

Firefox 1.5's tabs looked how I like them, like this:

But now, Firefox 2's tabs have a gradient/shine effect which I don't like:

At the same time, the fonts look different for some reason.

Does anyone know how to get firefox 2 to look more like firefox 1.5? Is it possible?

    Thanks.

You could maybe change all of the tab images in your /usr/lib/firefox/chrome/classic/skin/classic/global/icons

I haven't tried this yet, but I was thinking of customizing my tabs one day, I would just back everything up, and then create new tab images that were the same size...I don't know about the font.

And here's another thing I just found; go to about:config and change browser.tabs.closeButtons to 3, and this will change the tabs so there is only one 'close tab' button which is placed at the far right of the tab bar, just like in firefox 1.5.

Yup this is one of thous tweaks for advanced users, who uses that button to close tabs? Middle click is so much better and that button is used to close multiple tabs very quickly like 50 images open or something..

I've been using the add-on Tab-mix-plus since it first appeared a long time ago. It allows you to manage your use of tabs much more than FF alone and is worth looking at.

I love it when he gets excited like that.

Sometime you need to post a sound bite of that.
