    advice on a good beat em up

    hey there, just converted to linux this past few weeks and i was just wonderin if theres any good quality beat em up games out there... any suggestions?

    Best I've seen so far is: Beats of Rage
    From the Senile Team can be downloaded here for many platforms including linux.

    Also their upcoming Age of the Beast looks interesting.

    Hopefully I've understood your request for a "beat em up" properly.

    great ill check them out. sounds great. is there any in a sorta street fighter or virtua fighter kinda ilk? (sorry i guess im a bit of a console/arcade gamer a heart he he)

    Do you still need help installing it?

    All you have to do is download the Windows version (which includes the needed data files)

    Then download the linux binary, and extract them to the same folder.

    Flag the linux binary as executeable and you should be set.

    If you're not worried about legality, xmame (or any graphical frontend for xmame, Kxmame is my personal favorite) is great. You can emulate a lot of arcade games like Virtua Fighter and Street Fighter (gotta find rom files separately). Check for copyright laws about that, though, I don't know how legal it is exactly...

    You have to own the game to legally use a ROM.
