Ubuntu Cycling team! looking for members!

*** THIS IS A COPY OF MY EMAIL TO THE MAILING LIST ***

    Hi, Everyone!

I got a lot of positive responses from this idea on a few mailing lists
and in conversations with some friends. I've registered the team as
'Team Ubuntu' (courtesy of Canonical Ltd.) however just because you're
not an Ubuntu user, please don't feel like you can't ride, Linux is a
community, so lets not draw 'party' lines. I'm about to go on vacation,
so I won't be around a lot for the next two weeks so if someone wants to
volunteer to be a sort of co-captain or, something like that, that'd be
awesome. The website to sign up with all of the info is
www.mscycling.org, and it's the city to shore ride. I plan on doing the
2 day, 75 mile each day ride but if you don't feel like you can do the
whole thing, feel free to pick any other ride, everyone is welcome
regardless of skill level, this isn't a race, it's a fun ride for a good
    cause.

I would like this ride to only be the beginning. Unfortunately I'll be
on vacation for another good ride (the Irish Pub Tour de Shore), but
there are plenty of rides throughout the year and maybe we can form a
    sort of loose club/team.

For anyone hearing about this for the first time, we are forming a Linux
cycling team to ride in events to a) spread linux b) have fun! If you're
interested shoot me an email and I'll send you all of the details.

Please forward this onto your friends or other groups, anyone interested
in free software and bike riding or general fitness is welcome to come
along. I'm always available to field questions so really, if there's
anything, let me know; either via email, or I can often be found lurking
in the #plug and #ubuntu-pennsylvania, and maybe soon #ubuntu-bikes (I
might get it started) on irc.freenode.net.

Anyone who has business contacts, and would like to help fundraise but
can't bike for one reason or another is also very welcome to help out,
it is a fund raiser event, so we need help there too.

Good to know, I dont ride, but my father is riding in this and I'll pass the information onto him as well. Are you getting shirts made to wear for the event or what?
He also rides wednesday nights in NJ, from Stockton, nj to lambertville, nj and back with 20plus people...wide shoulders on the roads, lol.

Please follow up on this for the current year! I am a member of a biking organization, and would be interested in more information. I've also another question: after you got support from Canonical, how much do you need to raise per biker?
