4 mono inputs with an audigy
i don't know how many people here are familliar with the kx project
with it, you can hook 2 sb live! cards together via s/pdif cables amongst other things... is that something you can do with linux? i'm wanting to buy an audigy, and mod the aux in (see this forum post and this page) so i have 2 stereo line ins so i can record 4 tracks at once on windows, you need to use the kx drivers to do these things, are they possible with linux? I don't know of any ready made solution for this in Ubuntu so if you can make one you will be a pioneer.
It is possible to combine two sounds cards into one in alsa but I can't guarantee that it will work or tell you how to do it although it is something I'm investigating myself at present. The safest solution is to buy an audio card that is already supported and has 4 inputs. |

Re: 4 mono inputs with an audigy
hmm, from a bit of reading, it seems that you can run 2 sound cards at once (i think)
does anyone know for sure if alsa will recognize the aux input and the line input of an audigy2 card? (ie can i record 4 mono tracks at once?) |
