Re: How I got Halo: Combat evolved working on wine 0.9.39

I don't know why is says that the game isnt installed right, but I do know there is an issue with update working. I dont think the only solution for right now is not to play online. Sorry

The updater dose work on the new crossover games 7.2, but there is an issue with the mouse that prevents you looking to the left, for me at least

Re: How I got Halo: Combat evolved working on wine 0.9.39

I just installed Halo Custom Edition (Same thing, without campaign), and I get a crash error just before the menu screen. If someone could help me out, that would be great, I really want to play.

    gathering exception data

I get it to install successfully, but after the intro movies, it minimizes and gives me a window that says "gathering exception data..." then another error that tells me to quit.

Even when I add -novideo, it does the same thing, but just skips the vidoes.

I'm running the latest version of WINE on Ubuntu Hardy 8.04.1

thanks if anybody can help me!

A lot of people seem to be having the same issue and I am too. I kind of just gave up on it and built a gamer and put XP, Vista (for halo 2 only), and Ubuntu.
