    Linux Poker

Is there any poker games were you play with other people(over the web). that work with Linux
like partypoker. I don't care if it's over a web browser or a download and install. I want it to be with other real people and have a chat and have a few poker games to choose from but most important is hold'em. ohh and I mean for free imaginary money.
    Thank's

The only one I know of is a KDE app on getdeb.net but it doesn't have online play. I have been looking for an online hold 'em game for a long time. I also couldn't get partypoker to run under wine (Albeit, wine has since been updated).

It has network play but no centralized server. Essentially you have to have friends in mind to play with already, you can't go out and play with strangers. Closest I have found.

    you can freeplay at www.888.com

There site used to brag about being Linux compatible, never played though so unsure of actually how good it is.

    Re: Linux Poker

Party poker works with wine, instructions:
    Code:
PartyPoker installs and plays well using Wine 0.9.9 on SUSE Linux 10 without using WineTools.

        * Install Wine using the approperate installer from http://www.winehq.com/site/download
        * Run the winecfg command, click on the audio tab, click ok to the error that appears that no audio driver was found in the registry, uncheck and recheck the OSS Driver and click ok to accept these changes.
        * Install Mozilla ActiveX control from:www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/MozillaControl16.exe
        * Download and install the Microsoft Tahoma font from: download.microsoft.com/download/office97pro/fonts/1/w95/en-us/tahoma32.exe
        * Download and install the ******* version of Firefox from: http://www.mozilla.com/products/download.html?product=firefox-1.5.0.1&os=win〈=en-US
o After the Firefox install is complete, you will be asked if you want to launch Firefox. You should launch Firefox and when prompted if you want Firefox to be your default browser, say yes to ensure PartyPoker lobby menus work.
        * Download and install the latest PartyPoker client from: http://www.partypoker.com/download/
        * Using Wine run the RunApp.exe file located in home/yourname/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/PartyGaming/PartyPoker
I followed these using the latest wine version, everything works fine.

EmpirePoker (www.empirepoker.com) also runs using wine.

PokerRoom (www.pokerroom.com) has a Java client that generally runs nicely under Linux - although I haven't tried it for a little while now.

There are a couple of web sites that list Linux-friendly poker sites. If you Google "linux poker" (or even search these forums) you should be able to find them.
