    Re: Howto: Music album covers in Thunar Nautilus and everywhere!

    I have some problem with the picture avatars. Actually, they... ehm, do nothing. The old version used to work, but now double clicking a picture avatar has no effect whatsoever. I had a look to the .desktop files and while the old looked like
    Code:
    Type=Link
    URL=file:///whatever
    the new ones have
    Code:
    Type=Application
    Exec=avatar-factory -al picture "whatever" "/whatever.png"
    Launching the command in a terminal results in
    Code:
    picture launcher does not exist
    which seems a pretty good reason to silently fail.
    Why is this change?

    Anyway, thank you again for your impressive work.

    Just another question. Why for the youtube grabber you look for firefox bookmarks, but default to opening links with epiphany? It would seem more reasonable to use firefox instead, so that people don't have to keep two different browsers installed (ok, I saw there is the option to do so, I was just curious to ask).

    Ok, my last feedback for now. I tried the imdb grabber and the creation of images for avatars fails, saying something like
    Code:
    convert: unable to open image `/usr/local/share/avatar-factory/themes/DVD/base.png': Nessun file o directory.
    Indeed the image base.png has been renamed to base4.png in this release.

    Moreover I'm a bit confused about the names for the files. I tried the script various times, and sometimes the avatar had a name like 1.Film, some other times (I wasn't able to guess a rule) it had no name. The no-name version looks better to me: if you want to use the shelf as a background, you need this version to have the avatars properly aligned. Just to be precise: the --name option works for me. The fact is that sometimes I obtained a no-name imdb avatar without specifying
    Code:
    --name 0
    If the name has to be kept, consider translating the entity
    Code:
    &# 39;
    (without the space) into the apostrophe '.

    Ops, I knew that some horrible bugs could come out with this version.
    Thanks for the feedback!

    My intention was to launch the videos with a player but I don't know any youtube player (for streaming). Epiphany with no toolbar was the closest option I found, but you are right, I have changed the default behavior for the youtube grabber.

    mmm... I don't know about that one.
    The names are taken not form the imdb page but from the firefox bookmarks.
    What could be the problem...?

    Ok, for the moment do this:
    Code:
    gedit ~/.avatar-factory/avatar-launcher
    and add:
    Code:
    youtube=firefox
    or for opening in a new window:
    Code:
    youtube="firefox -new-window"
    Then use the --type 1 option:
    Code:
    avatar-factory -g youtube folder/2/save --type 1

    I tried to run an exec line in terminal and got the following error:
    Code:
    error: ACK [50@0] {lsinfo} directory not found
    I am not sure if it is supposed to be run in terminal at all though.

    Yes, it should run from the terminal. Maybe you are trying to run old avatars with the new version. You must delete the old ones and make them again with the new version.

    If that isn't the problem post the content of a non working avatar.
