Tried wormux. Don't quite like it. The physics are not upto the mark.

I've been following the development of iTeam very closely. I hope it goes well. I know C++, but I'm not good with SDL and frankly I have my own project I want to start.

I'm at work so I can't look to deeply into this at the moment, but I'm looking for some additional coding. Does your game support TCP/IP? If not, I'd be interested in helping add this functionality. I'll check this out some more later.

Wouldn't then fixing the physics make more sense than starting yet another half-working half-clone?

"interested in helping add this functionality. I'll check this out some more later" - thx digitalbenji!

Of course we know wormux, (btw, we love that game), but its not the point here.
We need help in iteam. Can you help? Thx.

So you know about wormux, want to help with creating "competing" project, but you lack decency to tell potential users that wormux exist, and what wormux misfeatures you want to implement differently.

IMHO this is example of deceiving advertisement, where you try to trick users to your project, even if wormux might be as good, or better, fit for what they want.

I understand when commercial projects do that, but in free software? Why?

Easy tiger, no need for hostility. Just because someone else painted the same landscape and its gorgeous, that doesn't mean that you can't paint it as well (if not better).

If I'm creating a FPS, do I first need to inform all the users that Quake, UT, Warsow, Padman etc. exist? Is that a new clause in the GPLv3 I missed?

Easy. They want to create the project for fun. Let them.

No, you don't *have* to inform, there always be someone who will do informing for you

Now readers of this thread (and the other thread in gaming forum) know about wormux, and can choose in which Worm-clone project they want to participate. Let them choose.
