Ummm, GNU Gnash I think thats what its called... I think it implements everything version 7 does. Google it though, I'm not certain how complete it is.
Ummm, truth is if you want all the functionality, then you prolly can't avoid installing flash. Just like you can't avoid installing proprietary drivers if you want to do anything intensive with your card (Game, beryl, other renderings...).
Heres wiki on Gnash. I do think their aiming at trying to replace flash. I don't know if it will ever completely be finished >.>.
Guys, I'm pretty sure he's asking for alternatives to Adobe Flash, not the Flash Player.
Here's one, conveniently named Flash 4 Linux. Though I think development has stopped.
And the only other one I know of is KToon, but I don't know if it's mainly for Flash files or not...
