font issue fixed, just copied all the windows fonts from my windows drive over.
this method of installing wine installs no fonts into the windows/fonts folder

Here's my compiled version (x86) if someone wants to try it. Try at your own risk.

Title screen and login work for me but all I get is a blank screen while the audio plays...

    Re: HOWTO: Joost (with sound)

It's working for me here, video, sound, everything. The interface is extremely slow (meaning I click, go get coffee, and when I've taken a nap, the UI comes up), but the video and sound play, and I can switch channels and everything seems functional. However, it's a bit jumpy compared to actually running it in Windows, and the sound is... scratchy is about the best way to put it, I think. I've got the sound set to 48000 sample rate and 16 bits per sample, with emulation and driver emulation (I tried all the way up through Full hardware acceleration, and it just became more jumpy and scratchy).

All in all, the best I've had it in Ubuntu, but not quite up to par. I've got a Windows machine running it now (secondary machine, only in existence for running Joost), so I'll probably hold onto that until wine "catches up" as it were, or the Linux version of Joost is released. Excellent progress for an extremely new app, either way. Bravo to the wine devs and those who have worked so hard to make the patches.
