Lightbulb WUSB54GC: How I got it to work!

Hi
It took me a long time, searching this forum and others, to get my WUSB54GC wireless card to work so I thought I'd sign up and share my method here in the hope that others might not have to go through the same problems as I did!

I managed to get it to work on Kubuntu Feisty(and Dapper before that).

I've written a step-by-step guide *here*

Hope this helps

Will it work on 'normal' Ubuntu 7.04 (i.e. not Kubuntu)

Oh, you sexy S.O.B., you. If you were still around and I knew where you were, I'd give you a hug for the HowTo.

My latest acquisition is a

and I've been pulling my hair out with PCMCIA cards and USB adapters that I have laying around. The WUSB54GC held the most promise since it saw networks, but couldn't connect. This dang lappy is so old it doesn't even have ethernet ports... ugh.

Anyway, if you ever come back, know that at least one person running a heinously old laptop with Feisty EdUbuntu thanks you greatly.
