How do I upgrade to the newest Kernel version?
-Do I have to do it 'manualy'?

You can find it in Synaptic.

if you use ssh, you can also export X, and have anything work, even if you are not in front of the computer.

    Did someone forget "make gconfig"

I dunno WHY you're having us install all that QT garbage, when there's a perfectly good GTK GUI for the kernel config.

    Re: HOWTO: Kernel compilation

I have some problem with xconfig. Of course i can still configure kernel using menuconfig, but i'd like to fix xconfig too. I've got this message:

    sed < scripts/kconfig/lkc_proto.h > scripts/kconfig/lkc_defs.h 's/P(\([^,]*\),.*/#define \1 (\*\1_p)/'
    HOSTCC scripts/kconfig/kconfig_load.o
    /usr/share/qt3/bin/moc -i scripts/kconfig/qconf.h -o scripts/kconfig/qconf.moc
    HOSTCXX scripts/kconfig/qconf.o
    HOSTLD scripts/kconfig/qconf
    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lqt
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
    make[1]: *** [scripts/kconfig/qconf] Error 1
    make: *** [xconfig] Error 2

I have no idea what is 'lqt'
Do you have any idea how to fix it?
