Windows reading ext3

This may be the wrong section but my rational was ext3 deals with a hard drive, which is physical hardware....

OK so looking at the unofficial ubuntu guide
http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu_Edgy#How_to_read_Linux_partitions_.28ext2.2 C_ext3.29_in_Windows_machine

I discovered that it is possible for windows to read and write to ext3. While I have no intentions of writing to ext3 (after horrible results using linux to write to ntfs), reading from ext3 would be wonderful as I just recently installed vista and would like to pull my games off the ext3 (the installers).

After briefly looking at the links provided in that guide, I see that they specificly say they support xp and lower with absolutely no indication as to VISTA supporting this little plug in.

I read on how this little add-on worked in windows and I am skeptical since the ungodly and unessesary security in vista may not appreciate me doing such things.

my question: does ANYONE know if this works in vista?

Note: I have a legitimate full release copy of Vista Business courtesy of my schools academic alliance

Re: Windows reading ext3

I used explore2fs to read/write to ext3 in Vista successfully for a few days. Not sure about the package you've linked to, I could oonly estimate that it'd be fine as XP/Vista are fairly similar
