Hi
I upgraded to the 2.6.11 because the nvidia driver is a lot more stable there (I was getting daily crashes with 2.6.10, none with 2.6.11 for over two weeks). Unfortunately, I can't get my DVD-RW detected (it doesn't show up at all in dmesg, so no /dev/scd0 is created). Did lots of searching---no solution. I am attaching my dmesg from the 2.6.10 bootup (cdrom is detected) and the 2.6.11 bootup (cdrom is not detected). Thanks for your help! P Edit: Oh, and my kernel boot line is /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.11-1-686 root=/dev/sda6 ro quiet splash i8042.noacpi noinotify the i8042.noacpi is to get the keyboard working, noinotify is to get GNOME not to crash. Neither of these should affect cdrom detection, should they? Last edited by Pausanias; June 19th, 2005 at 08:31 AM.. Reason: added kernel options |
