My post count has been 69 for a while, and it doesn't seem to rise.
Unless many of my posts are being deleted, is this a bug or do they update less regularly to save bandwidth?

You only get beans for posts in the tech support areas. Could that be the reason?
Perhaps your most recent posts were in the Cafe? (There's nothing wrong with that, BTW.)

It seems like a good system to me. Most people tend to think that high post counts give them power or reputation, so they go only to the chat section, and everybody will think they are Linux gurus.
So post count only rises where it really matters
