Got the same issue here... and it's reproducible on a few different distro.

I am unable to edit the first post anymore. Please see attached updated installer, should work with wine-1.4.
I have checked using this installer:
    1. Search function fully work
    2. Download function fully work.
    3. Graphic function fully work, at least download one graphic first to use it.

I have not checked other functions but all should work properly.

How about closing this thread, and continuing the discussion at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...8#post12576688, for reasons outlined there, and in some earlier posts in this thread?

Re: How To Install E-sword with wine

    Greetings everyone,

I assume you are here because of the same search I have done. Here is what I found in trying to install e-sword under wine.

First I am using Zorin 7. Almost all features work in it for me including Wine 1.4.

I read the above thread and the instructions to install oleaut32 to builtin then add the other dlls is correct for e-Sword 10.1 only (and below, I suppose). Those instructions will not work with the latest e-Sword 10.2. I tried a lot of things. What tripped me up was I was installing esword for some customers on their new Linux boxes and I was successful on one but not the other. I couldn't figure it out! After days and hours of struggling I finally realized that Rick Meyers had updated to 10.2.

For each PC I simply went to the esword website and downloaded the program. One day it was 10.1 the next it was 10.2. My own installation of esword was working well but with extra dlls as per older threads. So I decided to reinstall not realizing I was downloading 10.2. I was stymied!!

So, until someone figures out how to get tooltips in bibles window and the search function working correctly under 10.2, be sure to install esword 10.1 and follow this:

    Hi Dave

I have been running mint 11 and ubuntu 11.10. I am running wine 1.2.3 stable on both systems. The following has worked for me with both systems.

    Do this before installing E-sword:

Set oleaut32 to builtin in winecfg

    In winetricks install

    msls31
    msxml3 *
    vbrun6
    vcrun6
    wsh57

Once these are installed you can install E-sword and it should work.

    * To install msxml3 winetricks will open an MS download site where you can get the file. Once downloaded put it in: home/user-name/.cache/winetricks/msxml3

To find the .cache type ctl-h while in your home dir to show the hidden files. You my have to reselect the files to have winetricks install them.

Let me know if you have success with the above instructions.

    For His Glory,

    Frank

    Frank,
Have you tried installer above (http://ubuntuforums.org/attachment.p...2&d=1364391904) ?
    It works with latest e-sword (10.2.1) and wine-1.6-rc3 .
So far only sermon audio did not work.

I don't know how to install the installer. I actually tried the other day but I gave up.
