I agree, if it wasn't for the fact that I have to learn Vista to support end users, I would have ditched it long ago. My work gave me a sweet Dell XPS laptop that I dual boot between Feisty and Vista. At work, I manage my whole 96 site Windows network from my Linux box though. I use beryl and emerald. I like pretty things .Originally Posted by lamalex

novell released a few, lemme find you the link:

I upgraded to Feisty - Herd 5, last Tuesday. From what I have read, by installing all of the updates, I will be where I need to be on April 19. I will be ready to go.
Signature: DFI LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D (slot 939)
AMD64 X2 4800+ (2.71 GHz) - OCZ 5002048XTC 2GB (2.5,3,3,7)
XFX 4870 XXX 1GB [775/950] - SyncMaster 226BW-
Hitachi 80 GB SATAll 3.0 - 2ea. - WinXP Pro SP3/Karmic Koala 9.10 64-bit
Yes.
In fact, I have already adopted it after Herd4. I used to use Dapper, which was excellent - but has some performance problems - principally, some OpenOffice Issues with Impress (very slow slide transitions, terrible font rendering) - but those (serious) problems were solved with Feisty Fawn.
Overall I did not like Edgy - and the upgrade from Dapper to Edgy didn't work well at all.
Feisty is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better than Edgy, easier to install, easier to configure and got a bulletproof wireless set-up.
Unfortunately, Feisty Fawn got bite by the legacy nVIDIA 9631 implementation just prior to it's release, but I just roll my own driver a la tselliot's guide.
Feisty Fawn is by far and away the best Ubuntu so far, and the easiest GNU/Linux I've ever used.

Im already running Fiesty too . When it is released I will reinstall though - dunno why ...
I already updated to Feisty a few weeks ago on my desktop. The only problem I had was it wouldn't boot after the update. After some searching on the forums, I found that I had to set some modules to load (to handle the SATA drive). No problems since. The other week I updated my Ubuntu partition on my laptop without problem.
Yes,
I'll upgrade right away.
In fact, I have Feisty Beta running already on 2 machines.
There are nice tools included, what I can't wait to use, like, NTFS mounting, Compiz,
better network connection, etc.
