Oh and I got the memory card issue solved.. just had to point pSX to the files that I used in pcsx and they work fine.
No coding needed just need to figure out a way for zsnes to output sound with this newfangled pulseaudio thingy, especially in 64-bit hardy.

I have no idea what pulseaudio is but I've read the name a few times on here. Some new standard that's in hardy, right? Or something like that.

Had another question, if I'm making a link to automatically start up a game in pSX, what command would I put in? It would be something like ./pSX and then path to the rom, right?

Nevermind, I just went ahead and tried the command ./pSX with path to rom afterwards, booted up fine! Now I have a dedicated link to FF7 in my Games menu, with an icon and everything! Cool, huh?

@Everyone who has waited so long...

    Try http://packages.dfreer.org
You should be able to use the repository once more, without the port 8080.

    Still working on hardy though...

Re: How-To: install pSX on AMD64

i've just installed pSX... but it's not working quite well -
as soon as it opens, the terminal gets flooded with these messages:
    Code:
    r3000: executed illegal opcode ffffffff
    r3000: executed illegal opcode bfc0df4a
    r3000: executed illegal opcode 00002cdc
    r3000: executed illegal opcode ffffffff
    r3000: executed illegal opcode ffffffff
    r3000: executed illegal opcode bfc0df4a
    r3000: executed illegal opcode 00002cdc
    r3000: executed illegal opcode bfc0df3b
    r3000: executed illegal opcode 00008674
    r3000: executed illegal opcode 00000001
    r3000: executed illegal opcode 00008674
and when i click to open a menu
    Code:
    sound: underrun
    sound: underrun
and i can't open the menus to try out a game because they just appear and disappear in the blink of an eye as soon as i click.
anyone knows what this is caused by?

eta: i just managed to click "insert cd drive" and loaded a game. the pSX window stays black though and the terminal keeps getting "sound: underrun" messages. :\

What are you running, gutsy or hardy? I haven't made a hardy package, but the gutsy packages should work just fine (for gutsy).

Are your video card 3D drivers correctly installed? Also try increasing the sound latencies within the options about 10 ms.

Re: How-To: install pSX on AMD64

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 and pSX 1.13. After last updates (maybe week ago) my second USB gamepad was broken (work only Up, Down, Left and Right buttons). I tested /dev/input/js1 - all works fine (turbo, analog, etc). It's not a hardware's problem or driver's (gamepads are equal). I think it's a problem between some gnomelib and pSX. Did anybody face that challenge? Any idea to resolve this problem? I changed gamepad's - normal works only js0.

You may want to try the official pSX forums for this question, mangust.

Can you copy + paste the exact output? The website itself http://packages.dfreer.org seems to be working as far as I can tell. It's gotta be a problem with the repository itself then.

EDIT: No need to post output, I'm getting similar error reports from the zsnes thread. le sigh...
