I've started using a couple of command line apps for Google services.
1.gcalcli - the Git Hub version see my signature for a link. It supports oath so there is no need for your password in a gcalclirc file anymore
2. Tasky - also a script from Git Hub (see my signature for a link) that lets you add, view and edit Google Tasks.
NOTE: This script requires you to register "your" application at https://code.google.com/apis/console/
3.YouTube Uploader for the command line - https://code.google.com/p/youtube-upload/
NOTE: There is a bug in the current version that causes the uploader to crash unless you use a Gmail address, even if the non-Gmail address is a Google ID
