    Kupfer a launcher like Gnome do or synapse but I prefer it and it is lighter on memory.

    To use go to terminal and type

    youtube-dl [URL OF YOUTUBE VID]

    It saves the video in the directory that you are in, personally I find it to be faster and more convienient then get2pc and vixy.
    How do you decide on quality version? you dont get a choice of which to download?

    JSpeak, I created it because I was sick of rebooting to Windows to use 2nd Speech Center and ReadAloud. It turned out very nice. There's a youtube video demonstrating it on my blog. Check it out =)

    youtube-dl is one of my favorite.
    Alternative for people who like GUI (like me): stream-watch and download Youtube videos in 1 click via Minitube (in the repositories).

    Yes, thank you for posting it there, and helping make the open source community aware of JSpeak!

    Please file a bug report as an "enhancement" at

    https://github.com/BullShark/JSpeak

    I know Java is a very strong language on support like these things, so I will just need to read up on it. Please put it on the issue tracker if you'd like to see it done.

    I tried this "Obtaining and running the app"
    Code:
    $ wget https://github.com/downloads/BullShark/JSpeak/JSpeak.tbz
    $ tar -xf JSpeak.jar
    $ cd JSpeak
    $ java -jar JSpeak.jar
    but it didn't work. Instead did this
    Code:
    $ tar -xf JSpeak.tbz
    $ cd JSpeak
    $ java -jar JSpeak.jar
    and now it works. So your info there has a mistake (.tar instead of .tbz) I think?

    It's not a mistake. It's the equivalent of .tar.bz2. So .tbz is the same as .tar.bz2, make sense?

    Saw an R Cran app at the iTunes store. It's called R Instructor. Anybody downloaded/heard of it?
