    Re: jigdo

I did not try it yet but from the jigdo website. LINK

To download the original file, a user only needs to tell the jigdo-lite download tool the URL of the jigdo file, it will extract all the necessary information and perform the download, fetching the data in many small pieces, possibly from several different servers.
Why can't technology be as simple as the box it comes in ?

    hmm...
the problem is that it has so many addresses and wants you to specify which.
you try your own country and so many files are missing from the repository, perhaps because they are not updated.
so i want to know which server is updated.

As far as I know it is used only for ISO download so far, to do that select a mirror then scroll down and you wiil see a list of links, some are plain downloads, some bittorrent and some has the jigdo at the end of the filename, that's what you need.

perhaps i did not make my question clear.
i have feisty hurd 4 iso.
    i want hurd 5.
i want to use jigdo so that only the changes files will be downloaded.
i try this method. i start jigdo lite and supply the jigdo url from the download feisty web page.
    it is downloaded.
i put in the feisty hurd 4 cd and files are copied.

to download the rest of the files is the problem.
i try the indian site and many a files are missing.
i try some other site like from US and still files are missing.
that means the files needed have not been uploaded.

why give a jigdo link if the files are not uploaded? if all servers cannot have the files, at least the info as to which server has the files must be supplied.

i hope i have made myself clear.
