    Seperate X for games?

    A while ago while searching through some tutorials I saw one that showed you how to create a seperate x server (or window? not sure on the terminology), that would run only the game and not gnome and all the other stuff, causing the game to run considerably faster.

    Can anyone post how to do this, or a link to the tutorial if you know what I am talking about?
