Cost of Ubuntu cd in large quantity

    hi...

i am working as commercial artist in a publishing company in a small town
    in Greece (about 40.000 citizens).

we publish also a magazine (about 2.500 pieces/issue).

after i use Ubuntu for the last 2 years i like to help to spread it in my hometown.

one thinking is to put the Ubuntu cd (dapper 6.06. LTS) in the magazine.
i believe it's a good oportunity because the most readers are young people who
    they are using computers.

but after searching in the Ubuntu website (ship it) i figure out that i need
    about 3750 euro!!! (2500 cd's * 1.50 euro each).

of course i can't spend so much money (im a poor worker in a poor country).

i was thinking about sponsors to finance the cost, but who give 500 euro
(about 6-7 sponsors * 500 euro) sponsoring a unknow product in a small town
there the 50% of the citizens cannot see the differense about a toaster and a pc?

i thing it's better to have Canonical some sponsors (printed in the cd case?)
and reduce the cost of the cd's so every can buy large quantities with a cost
    about 0.20-0.30 euro per cd.

with 0.20 euro per cd i could buy the 2.500 cd's only 500 euro instead 3750 euro!!!

i believe that's a good option. and after the cd cost is reduced, Canonical can

suggest users to buy large quantities of cd's and put them in theyr local
    magazines, newspapers etc.

this is how Ubuntu can really spreads all over the world. whe talk about millions
of readers who can get a copy of Ubuntu. statisticaly you can say what 1 of 4
readers are try it (see something identical from a poll).

i don't know if the sponsor issue is against Canonical (and also Ubuntu)
    philosophy.

    or maybe im too optimistic...

the cd's must have a professional look (like them in ship-it) to make them interest to new
users to try Ubuntu. so not only a cheep burned cd.

and if i make my own pressed cd's, the cost will be the same (ore more?) with ship-it.
